An Ode to the Coffee Cup

My favorite little sister came over yesterday and brought us our gifts from Europe.... and ate our pizza.


While we all love our gifts and they are all cute and supremely appropriate for each of us, I think my present takes the cake :) Sure, Jen and I gave many laughing suggestions of what she should bring us back (i.e. the Crown Jewels - we did get a picture of those), I had mentioned that I really wanted something from Piza. I'm not sure that I'll ever actually be able to use it (one day I might try just for S&G) but I have to say that my present, my coffee cup, is probably the coolest thing Meagz could have brought me.


So here Meagan, this is my Ode to the Coffee Cup!!! You Rock Meagan, THANK YOU! (and since you already posted this for public consumption I'm going to put here too...)

A Quickie!

So here's an update on the whole oven/stove issue. Allow me to briefly describe the conversation I had with my mom... Me: It worked before and now it doesn't. It's broken. Our Newest Treasure

After all the waiting, both patient and impatiently, the baby is finally here!!! So without further ado, I'd like to introduce to you all: Helyn Saphira Marie Our precious jewel ;) Born August 6, 2008 [08-06-08] 5:59pm 7lbs 12oz, 21 1/4 inches (our biggest baby!) As for information on the actual birth, for those of you who are interested... I mentioned in my last post I had a doctors appointment on Wednesday afternoon and when he checked me I was 3cm dilated. Now at this point [1:15pm] I wasn't actually having any contractions and by the end of the appointment he had made arrangements to induce me on Thursday morning - which would have been the 7th. I went from the doctors office to my mom's office to let her know how things had gone and to visit for a few minutes. By 2pm I'd started to have a few contractions but I didn't think too much about them as they weren't really all that different from what I'd been having for the last week or so. By 2:30p

It occurred to me while I was trying to write a post recently – one that included most, if not all, of our (still growing) immediate family on both sides, that there are now quite a lot of us AND when telling stories it can get very confusing to follow precisely who is involved. So I decided it might be worthwhile to write up something of a list of common “characters” that I talk about: family members mostly just from the immediate family.
